Is the game going to expand over time?

Short answer: Yes. There are two new armies: the heroic Stormcast Eternals and the bloodthirsty warriors of the Chaos god Khorne. An of course there will be an ever-growing range of troops for both of these forces. And it is more than obvious that entirely new factions in the months and years to come.

Can I still use my old miniatures?

So, you’ve collected armies for prior editions of Warhammer. The good news are that there’s nothing stopping you and your friends from using them. Games Workshop has also published conversion rules for their existing range of miniatures. You can safely  use your armies under the new system.

Just be sure that Games Workshop won’t provide continued support for older editions of the game. If you’re looking to expand your existing old armies, you’ll have to look at picking up second-hand miniatures.

Know the Warhammer 40K rules

The Warhammer 40k rules are A LOT! But don’t panic, the important rules are pretty short. You don’t have to learn them all from reading the manual. The best way to learn them is to set up little pretend-battles and start playing out the rules.

Once you see them in action, they’ll be easier to remember and understand. As more familiar you are with the phases of battle, 90% or more of the game will go swimmingly.

Is like when you learn to swim and stick to the lanes of the swimming pool. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, then you need to start exercising a little bit.
