Warhammer 40K: Dark Imperium Boxed Set

These are the armies battling in the  41st millenium

Space Marines

Better known as humanity’s first line of defence. They were created using DNA from Mankind’s immortal Emperor. They are super-human warriors!

They are his personal army. They have as much weapons as you can imagine and their technology has no comparison on earth. They’re the best trained assault team and mentally worked to resist the forces of Chaos.

They’re split up into many Legions, they are known by their various colour schemes and insignia. The blue Ultramarines are the better known ones, also they’re the Emperor’s own legion. The crimson Blood Angels’ specialty is close-combat. The hooded Dark Angels’ main power is firepower and speed.

If this wasn’t enough, there are more variations still. Like the Viking Space Wolves and the fanatical Grey Knights. These segments of the Space Marines are the most searched for by Warhammer 40K players.

Players interested in them will find a ton of variety in terms of models and play-styles.

The Astra Militarum

They are considered the “Hammer of the Emperor” and pulverize their foes with some of the most powerful artillery and tanks in the world of Warhammer 40K.

Pretty similar to their Space Marine brothers, the imperial Guard is also divided in a number of notable regiments and factions.

The most notable and high in number are the olive drab cadian forces. The Catachan specializes in jungle warfare. The tech-savvy Militarum Tempestus can melt their enemies with plasma weapons.

They offer tons of tactical maneuver and a lot of units to mix and match into different lists. They’re an excellent opportunity to serve as a supplementary force for your Space Marines or vice versa.

Adeptus Mechanicus

They’re composed by the Tech Priests of Mars, and their army the Skitarii. We can say that they’re independent from the Imperium. The Mechanicus are in charge of producing the majority of the empire’s wargear.

They made this rare venture with the Empire of Man thinking in their own benefit. The Adeptus Mechanicus look to roam the stars looking for ancient technologies to improve their own robotic race and the will of their Machine God – the Omnissiah.

Their knowledge of strange technologies makes them great in production & research and also in the art of warfare. They have little sympathy for biological life. They would make an excellent companion force to any Imperial army too.

Daemons of Chaos

A twisted fold in space a.k.a. the Warp is the main source of darkness and evil power in Warhammer 40K’s universe. Living through it are the Dark Gods – Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Khorne – also known as the gods of disease, pleasure, knowledge and bloodshed respectfully.

They have their individual daemon armies that personify these themes in look and rules.

This makes Chaos Daemons a diverse force with a singular intent: the destruction, subjugation and absolute erasing of the Imperium. The thematic incarnations of Chaos, will allow any collector to create an army fully themed after a specific god.

Maybe a twisted alliance between any of their legions…or a frightening supplement for their ultimate companions.

Chaos Space Marines

The forces of Chaos were mixed with Mankind’s greatest creation to create its most feared enemy. The Chaos Space Marines also known as the prodigal sons of the Dark Gods.

They embody their divine hatred for the False-Emperor and his sickening boot-lickers. The Chaos Space Marines were loyal to the Imperium themselves.

They offered their souls to any one of the Dark Gods to receive the power to destroy what they once loved. The loyalist Death Guard swore their loyalty to Nurgle – the god of disease.

To give them eternal life, Nurgle injected their bodies with his divine plagues – twisting and rotting their flesh, but allowing them to sustain incredible amounts of damage.

The forces of Nurgle, both Daemon and Chaos Space Marines, are the most searched Chaos faction and the new range of models is simply awesome.

Orks

Orks are basically a race of brutish, war hungry, monsters from space. Their obsession with war and the adrenaline of a fight is the most common defining factor of the Ork ‘civilization.’

They assemble in massive hordes, armed with makeshift, ransacked weapons and vehicles to jump into the very core of combat as fast as possible. Orks are an amazing army to see on the tabletop. Their rules reflect their endearing lore perfectly.

The Tau

The Tau are a relative mystery among the various factions in the galaxy. They the youngest of the races, but are the keenest towards science and the development of technology. They arm their forces with some of the most advanced and futuristic technology seen in any of the other factions.

They are perhaps the only faction known for preferring a diplomatic approach to all situations and only employing force where all else fails.

The Tau general would have an army of cool battle suits and well-equipped ground soldiers, backed by stealth systems having their best at long-range combat. All these, in the noble interest of spreading enlightenment across the galaxy.

Necrons

The Necrontyr is a dynasty pre-dating any of the other races. The Necron were attached to metal bodies in order to achieve eternal life. This turns themselves into formidable engines of war. like if this wasn’t enough, they have advanced regeneration abilities.

They’re slumbering in colossal tombs and will awake only to wage war and exterminate what they consider the scum of the galaxy in order to recover their place as its ruler.

The Necron are armed with powerful gauss weaponry. This can tear both infantry and vehicles apart on the battle top. Their reanimation protocols ensure many of your fallen warriors will get a second chance at their immortality and resurrect.

Eldar

Eldars are the 41st millennium’s elves. They are too among the oldest races in the universe. Very similar to the Necron and Humanity, their empire is only a shadow what used to be. Their psykers are their greatest asset. Their weapons’ technology is of unparalleled power.

Players with Eldar armies will be in control of one of the most powerful factions available on the game. The abilities they show in all fields of combat is enough to make any other player worry and really have to re think in order to contend with what you’re packing.

Dark Eldar

Far from the Eldar’s world and what they call home, lay the black sheep of their race: the Dark Eldar. They raise a culture based on pain, genetic science and guerrilla warfare. The Dark Eldar revels in the simple thrill of spilling blood through space.

An attack from their forces ended before it began. They jump into battle upon the fastest transport in the game. Their troops are among the most nimble on foot; are you sure you want to face them?

Like if it wasn’t enough, the Dark Eldar become more powerful by destroying enemy units.

Tyranids

The Tyranids are one of the most dangerous threats to every race within the galaxy. The nature knows no mercy, no communication or surrender.

They move with the only purpose, powered by the Hive Mind, to devour all living things and consume entire planets. Their ships  float through space carrying armies of large tyrannical beasts. The Tyranid army has a lot of ranges of models.

The player using Tyranids is able to compile armies of either giant alien killers, huge hordes of more man-sized beasts or a combination of both. They are lethal in close-quarters combat. And guess what? They bring options for shooting and psychic powers as well!
